Apparently, the government watches Mad Men too because they pulled a Don Draper and are working both sides of an ad campaign. Just like how Don
brilliantly handsomely figured out that when the cigarette-maker Lucky Strike fired them, there was money to be made in the anti-cigarette American Cancer Society, the government is performing double-duty!
In a recent New York Times article, it was revealed that while at the center of a federal anti-obesity drive that discourages over-consumption, the United States Department of Agriculture was also helping Domino’s develop a new line of pizzas with 40% more cheese! Aaand, one slice of this new
heart attack pizza contains as much as two-thirds of the daily maximum recommended amount of saturated fat.
But not only did the Department of Agriculture (under the very uncreative pseudonym of Dairy Management) help them develop this marketing campaign, they also paid $12 million to help them do it! That’s where the government “went rouge”, as Her Palin-ness likes to say. Because Don Draper would never have paid The American Cancer Society for his transgression – he is too handsome for such backward thinking.
